What is Mostaccioli pasta?

Mostaccioli is similar to penne, which I used when I fabricated this recipe, in size but unlike penne it has a smooth texture. My local grocery shop didn't have Mostaccioli in stock then I used penne instead.

This recipe calls for a combination of three meats:

  • Italian Sausage
  • Chorizo
  • Ground Beefiness

Yous will used a half pound of each and cook them at the same time until browned. Cooking them simultaneously saves a considerable amount of time in preparing this dish.

This recipe as well calls for four different types of cheese:

  • Parmesan
  • Asiago
  • Mozzarella
  • and Gruyere

I know it sounds like a lot of cheese merely in total is only ii cups of cheese. The cheeses add an extra layer of savoriness to the pasta that would be missing without the combination.

How can I cook all of this in one pot?

I know I asked myself the aforementioned question, I mean it takes me a skillet and two pots to merely a normal everyday spaghetti. So is it possible to cook three dissimilar meats, pasta, and a sauce in i pan?

Mostaccioli pasta prepared in a skillet with sausage and cheese and marinara sauce garnished with fresh parsley.

The answer is yep, information technology's totally possible. Here are the steps:

  1. In a large skillet over medium estrus, combine the chorizo, basis beef and Italian sausage. until browned then transfer the meats to plate and set it aside.
  2. Adjacent, add together olive oil and butter to the skillet Allow the butter to cook before adding the onion and garlic. Sauté for five minutes or until the onion is translucent.
  3. Then, stir in the marinara sauce, water and pasta into the skillet. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for xv minutes, or until the pasta is cooked to al dente.
  4. Return the meats to the skillet. Add together the mozzarella, Parmesan, Asiago, and Gruyere cheeses to the pasta mixture. Stir to combine all the ingredients until the cheeses are melted, ii to iii minutes. Garnish the pasta with the parsley before serving.

It's actually super piece of cake and information technology was definitely easier to make clean up than my usually method for making pasta.

I hope yous will check out Megan's book, Incredible One Pot Cooking. You can buy it on Amazon or Barnes and Nobel.

Happy Cooking Y'all!
